Frequently Asked Questions

An art print is a reproduction of an original piece of art. Art prints can be created in a variety of processes and mediums. Common reproduction techniques are Gicleé printing and block printing. Gicleé art prints are fine art reproductions made using inkjet printers and archival inks. These art prints are colorfast for up to 400 years! Block prints are made using printing plates carved from wood or linoleum. Ink is rolled onto the plates and paper or fabric are laid on the plate. The paper or fabric are then burnished or pressed to transfer the image from the plate onto the paper or fabric.

Usually art prints are created one at a time using high quality paper and archival inks. Posters are usually run off of a printing press using CMYK process and lower quality papers.

My gicleé art prints are printed on Epson Sommerset Velvet 100% cotton, acid free, fine art paper using archival inks. My block prints are printed on repurposed sail bags, sails, and vintage fabrics using water based or oil based block printing inks.

Buying original art or art prints is a way to beautify your home or office, support artists, inspire yourself and guests, show off your style and interests, add color to your space, support the repurposing of old items and art is also a sound investment.

My art and prints are available framed in whitewashed maple, black, natural and white frames. My art and prints are also available unframed.

All of my art and art prints are pieces that I created. My gicleé art prints are reproductions created from my original art. My block prints on fabric are each their own original piece of art.
